Bankston Boyz Looking to have a peach of a time in Georgia

Bankston Boyz racing is planning on having a peach of a time at the upcoming Hardees' Georgia Drags V at South Georgia Motorsports Park on April 10-11. Michael Bankston was recently at Gateway International raceway (April 4) for a test session with John DeFlorian.

On John's first pass he clicked the motor off just pass the 330 marker and carded a 4.19 time slip. Michael Bankston and the Boyz examined the computer data, liked what they saw and were ready to get after it again.

John's second pass netted him a career-best run of 4:02 @ 185 which, according to Bret "I'm just in it for the parking" Kepner, reset the eighth-mile track record for a Pro Nitrous car at Gateway International Raceway.

After analyzing the computer data, they knew the car could run quicker if they could improve the 60' time and we all know that is easier said than done. On the third pass, John got out of the groove as the car headed to the right so he clicked it off before the 330. Time slip showed the 60' improved a little, 1.01. Fourth pass was identical to the third pass; car went to the right, got out the groove.

So with 4 test attempts, one being a 4.02 and all with no tire shake, John is excited to get to the South Georgia Motorsports Park to hook up with the other Bankston Boyz, Stan Allen and Tim Savell. With Stan Allen having won the first ADRL race of 2009, Tim Savell running a 3.994 and now John DeFlorian getting the power to the ground, this team is on the brink of garnering another ADRL trophy for Michael Bankston.

This team knows you can go from champ to chump in a blink of an eye, so they'll take it one step at a time in Georgia, get all 3 cars qualified, go rounds and hopefully have a pair of Bankston Boyz in the final round.

If you're planning on attending the ADRL Hardees' Georgia Drags V April 10-11, stop by the Bankston Boyz pits and meet the drivers, Stan Allen, Tim Savell and John DeFlorian. And if you happen to meet John DeFlorian after he wins a round, we will not be responsible for bodily damage that may occur from the celebration.

Unable to attend the races, check out http://www.bankstonboyzracing.com to see how the Boyz are doing.
