Bankston Boyz Racing out of Terry, MS is a family owned operation that has been in the family for years and was founded by the patriarch Eddie Bankston, father of Michael and Justin.
As early as the late 1960's Eddie began drag racing in and around the southeast in an AA stock GTO.
As children both Michael and Justin were at the races and in the pits turning wrenches, setting clutches, and working on tune ups under the scrutiny of their father.
As fortune would have it Eddie's love of the sport was passed on to the boys who bracket raced together for many years in two different Camaros.
The practical experience of working on their cars along side of their father impressed on the boys the importance of drag racing and the need to constantly seek to improve their racing operation by getting quicker and faster.
By the time the ADRL was organized the Bankston Boyz were racing in big tire Pro-Nitrous races in Mississippi and surrounding areas.
They are currently state record holders for the quickest and fastest nitrous door car with an E T of 4.03 at 184 mph!
The ADRL's first race was in Hattiesburg, MS at the Hub City Dragway under the direction of founder Kenny Knowling, and we have been racing with them since the series inception in 2003.
So, we started an outlaw Pro-Modified Nitrous team with the intent of running professionally in the ADRL at that time.
It was at this time that both Michael and Justin stepped out of the cockpit and focused their energies on team management and hired Stan Allen to drive for them.
We could see the vision of Kenny and where the ADRL was going be in the near future.
It was clear in our minds that the ADRL was going to be a nice, professionally managed organization that inspired us to commit.
Kenny Knowling has done a fantastic job in making all of our dreams come true by allowing Bankston Boyz Racing be active participants in national events.
In 2007 we added a second car and driver to the team. Tim Savell joined in Rockingham, NC at Dragstock IV, where he was competitive right out of the box.
In 2008 at Dallas, the Bankston Boyz added their recent car and driver to the team, John Deflorian and his Haas built 2006 Corvette.
We are now a multiple car team with 3 great drivers.
We only use the best equipment available on the market to remain competitive.
